Aspirations and a little bit of creating

I think this heat is getting to me! I'm staying up lately because it's its just so hot! this is a wee wall plaque I did last night, my office walls are looking decidedly bare. Where I work we base our service on the Strengths Model.
Its a way of thinking that is a little bit outside the usual medical or social models for disability services, and once you get your head around it, it makes alot of sense, these days people do (thankfully) tend to focus on people's strengths, but its a little more than that, have a read here for more detailed information.
So in light of that, I happened upon a quote that I really like, I'm not usually one for quotes or self help type things, but I think this quote says alot. So I pinked and blinged my desk ( LOVE working on stuff for me only!) and this is what I made:
Aspirations...
Achievement rather than solving problems,
with thriving more than just surviving,
with dreaming and hoping rather than just coping
and with triumph over trauma.

I forgot !!!

I was at Dress Mart in Onehunga on the weekend, and saw this advertisement that totally cracked me up- How anyone comes up with these ideas totally impresses me!!!
Those are little guppie type fish swimming around in the "tank" classic indeed, even funnier was hearing the parents trying to explain just what it was.... the younger kids were enthralled, the older kids were more horrified!
And this is my tin! aren't you all totally impressed that I actually DID an altered art thingie, this is a Basic Grey Lunch Pail - available now from Spotlight, this tin was made with my neice in mind, so very girly, the title will be put on at some stage but not now, the mini album stuff inside is a total mix up, photos of anything and everythign and I'll do some recipe cards too. If you want to see it up close and personal, it will be on display at Spotlight Manukau from this weekend (and yes as all things look, this is much better in real life!)
Thanks to Zeetra for the encouragement particulary regarding the ribbons- yes, it seems I really can do it!

Does everyone feel neglected??

I figured those pretty pictures were enough to amuse everyone for a couple of days, this is the photo of the canvas i finished at camp, Its of Tess and Stu on their recent wedding day, Tess is a colleague at work who had the most gorgeous wedidng photos, and because I was running low on photos (as per usual i hear you all say!) She was kind enough to make a copy of her photos for me - such beautiful photos - this photo doesnt do the canvas much justice either, its a bit blinger than it looks - and the brads in the flowers have nice sayings like our wedding day and just married. Tess really liked it (well she SAID she did)

And tonight I went to a product preview today of Hot Of the Press stuff today, wasnt umm THE MOST exciting product, meaning it wasnt my cup of tea, however the company was wonderful as per normal, and (drum roll please) I WON! I have been going to NZ Scrapbook for agggges now and this is the first time i have won something, and it was clear stamps! i luff clear stamps and flowers and girly stuff so i won these:
Now I just have to find something to use them on! Im SURE ill find something... one day :D
